What Excited Me Last Night...

ooh. That could be the lead-in to a very cheeky post! I'm just getting fabric-excited though...no silly boy stuff right now! ;)

While bloghopping one night, I came across Tonya's-possibly insane, definitely awesome-attempt to tame some "uglies" into playing well with others.  This is *right* up my alley! I have loads of scraps from when I was first starting that were salvaged from old clothing, the remnant bin at JoAnns, estate sales...some pretty gnarly stuff. Doesn't fit the bright colorways I tend to choose these days. So I pulled a couple of strips-30 or so-and started to chop. I subcut these 1.5" strips into lengths as short as 2 inches, as long as 6. The plan is to make a ridiculously long piece and...

guess you'll have to wait til I have a pic :D

  1. wheee, sounds fabulous!!!!! throw a few of the pretties in too. I leave some of my bits longer than 6" and then either use them that way or put them at the end of a row and then whack it off to the exact size I want the row to be (10.5 or really 10 5/8 so that I can actually get the block to finish at 10.5" unfinished"

  2. oops, just reread your plan and you're going with a different plan and making a big long row to then cut smaller. I thought about doing that too, but found I liked doing shorter rows. My goal is to write up my methods today.

  3. Hi Sarah, thanks for following me on my blog.....oh yes Tonya is quite an inspiration and
she always has something fun going on.
And look how supportive she is :0).

I also cope with pulling back and regrouping, but don't forget that sometimes you have to give and sometimes you get to take.
I hope your creativity has helped heal your hurt a bit. it always works for me :0).

    Happy sewing
